1. Can I have a blog within my KISS Builder website?
You can easily set up a link to a blog that you have created elsewhere.

2. Can I add adverts on my KISS Builder website?
What you add into your website is entirely up to you. As you have full control of the content it is easy for you to add in images and text, and as such you could add in an advert if you like.

3. SEO is very important for me. Do you do website optimisation service?

4. Will my website be secure for my clients when filing in forms/ordering online?
If you are using the KB shop or KB Pro Shop solutions then any paymenst you take will be via either Worldpay or Paypal whichever you decide to use. As such these transactions will be secure. If you are simply getting people to complete simple online forms then it is best not to ask for details that should be secure.

5. Can I host my KISS Builder website on another server?
Yes & No – In order for you to continue to use the KISS Builder solution to make changes then your website must be on our servers. If you no longer want to make changes you can easily transfer the HTML files onto another server.

6. Will I have website stats/other analysing/marketing tools for my website?
With each KISS Builder hosting package comes access to your site statistics.

7. What if I forget how / don't have time to do the updates?
There are help files available or if all else fails you can call our technical help line on 0141 332 7568. N.B. This is only available during normal business hours Monday to Friday.

8. Will you help me to enhance/edit my pictures?
We can help you with this service although there will be a small fee for this. The fee will be dependant on how much time it takes to do what you are after.

9. Can I update my website from any computer?
Yes. As long as the computer has internet access and you remember your Username and Password to login.

10. Do you supply images for my website ?
Kiswebs subscribe to the online photo library www.photos.com and included in your KISS Builder fee is the use of images from this library. You identify the images and Kiswebs download and optimize these for you. You can ofcourse use your own images on your website.

11. Once my site is live, can I still obtain images to go onto my site?
Kiswebs can still download images for you from www.photos.com after your training – however there will be a small fee depending on how much time it takes to do this.

12. Can I have sounds / background music on my website?
Yes. However, music can be added in for you by our support staff for a nominal fee.
This is generally not recommended in most cases though as sound or music can often distract people from the message on your website

13. Can you train another person to do updates for my website. Will I get a discount on that?
You will find that because the KISS Builder solution is so simple, you will be able to train the next person if you like. We can also train on your behalf for an agreed fee depending on how long the training has to be.

14. Can I access my website through FTP?
Yes – you will be given FTP details if or when you require them.

15. Can I have different languages on my website?
Most Western languages use the same character set and font type and as such these languages can easily be added in. Other languages though may prove problematic.

16. Will my website's visitors be able to resize the text on my website?
Yes. KISS Builder website are setup with accessibility in mind and as such the site visitor will be able to resize the text if they wish.

17. Can I have/change templates on my website?
This depends on what you mean here. As you have full access to all parts of your website you can change the appearance of your website quite considerably. You cannot have different templates though for different sections of your site. Depending on which KISS Builder solution you are using you will be able to change the appearance of different parts of your website, such as the banner.

18. Can I have a member-only restricted area on my website?
This would need to be added in as an additional bit of functionality by the team at Kiswebs. As such an additional fee for this would apply.

19. I am looking to create branded stationery etc. Do you provide this kind of service or can recommend someone?
Yes. Kiswebs (the creators of KISS Builder) has a dedicated team of Graphic Designers who would be happy to quote you for whatever Branding, or printed material you require. Simply call them on 0141 332 7144 and let them know your needs and wants.

20. Are there any restrictions as it goes for the content present on my website? Can I have an adult website or in a foreign language?
You cannot have a website with content that may offend people or that may be illegal in anyway. E.g. If you were an escort agency selling your wares this would not be permitted. However if you were a lingerie retailer selling your wares this would be permitted.

With regards to the foreign languages. You can use KISS Builder as long as the languages are western languages as the character set and font type used are the same as that used by English. Certain Asian and far eastern languages will not display properly using KISS builder, although the team at Kiswebs may have a solution for anyone wishing to use these languages.

21. Can I suspend my website?
If, for whatever reason, you wish us to suspend your website we can easily do this for you.

22. Can I have different files on my website so people can download them?
Yes. You can have Word documents, Excel Spreadsheets,

23. Can I manage email accounts myself?
Managing email accounts can be done by yourself if you have a certain level of IT competence. However as your hosting account includes support from our experienced IT team then we would suggest you leave email account management to us.

24. Can I cave a photo gallery on my website?
The simple answer is yes, although perhaps not as you would imagine. Depending on which KISS Builder product you are using you can have either 5 images per page or unlimited images per page.

25. Apart from the initial payment, what are the ongoing costs?
Each year there is an annual fee that covers the following; website hosting , email hosting, support. This varies depending on which KISS Builder solution you are using. Please see here for details:

  • • KB = £130pa + vat or £13 / month + vat by direct debit
  • • KB Pro = £150pa + vat or £15 / month + vat by direct debit
  • • KB with Shop = £170pa + vat or £17 / month + vat by direct debit
  • • KB Pro with Shop = £190pa + vat or £19 / month + vat by direct debit

Please Note: The above annual fees allow you access to our dedicated support team on 0141 332 7568 during normal Business hours. Please email support@kiswebs.net out with of normal business hours.
Every 2 years you will also be due to renew your domain name or names. These fees are as follows:

  • • .co.uk = £16 + vat for 2 years fees
  • • .com = £28 + vat for 2 years fees
  • • Other domains on request

26. What are the benefits of one to one training?
With 1 -2 – 1 training there is the added benefit of your training being scheduled at a time to suit you. Also the training only lasts 3 hours and as such is more like a long meeting than a days training. There is also more scope for our designers to assist with image and banner manipulation, and you will have the full attention of one of our experienced trainers for the full 3 hours.

27. How do I find out if I am eligible for grant funding?

28. Will you help me on writing my text?
We shall supply you with guidelines on who to write your text, but your fee does NOT include us sitting down with you and writing text for your website. We can offer this service to you on an hourly charge out rate, or we can put you in touch with a copywriter who will be able to assist you at a cost over and above the cost for your KISS Builder solution.

29. What if I don't have a logo?
If you do not have a logo the Multimedia team at Kiswebs will assist you by creating a simple logo. N.B. This is included in the value of your KISS Builder solution but only allows for a very simple logo based on your business name. If you want something more “designed” then the team at Kiswebs will be happy to discuss the options open to you and the associated costs. 30. Can I sell online?

Yes – but only using either the following 2 products:

  • • KISS Builder + Shop
  • • KB Pro + shop.
You cannot sell using these products:
  • • KISS Builder
  • • KB Pro.

32. Can I have more than one domain name?
Yes. You can have as many domain names as you like and all can point to your one website. Please note that each additional domain name that we register on your behalf will incur a cost to you.

The 2 main domain name extensions used in the UK are .co.uk & .com. Please see here for fees associated with registering these domain names:

  • • .co.uk = £16 + vat for 2 years fees
  • • .com = £28 + vat for 2 years fees

33. What is a Content Management System?
A Content Management System ( or Solution) – sometimes referred to as CMS or C.M.S. is simply a solution that allows you to manage your content. Or to put it another way – you can easily change your text and images and create new pages using a CMS.

All KISS Builder products are CMS’s and you will find them exceptionally easy to use. Simple word processing skills are all that is required in order to use and understand the KISS Builder solutions.

34. What if I accidentally delete something?
Before deleting you must approve the deletion. But if you do delete something by approving the deletion then you simply recreate it.

35. Can people see my changes as I make them?
No. You can make as many changes to your website as you like and this will NOT affect the live version of your website. Once you are satisfied that the changes you have made are as they should be ( you can do this by using the preview option within KISS Builder ) you would then select the “Upload” button and your changes will then go live for everyone to see.

36. Can I use Google Analytics with my website?
Yes – however there is a small setup fee of £30 + vat for this service

37. Why did Kiswebs develop this product?
Kiswebs are experienced website designers and developers and have been assisting businesses get online since 1999.

In the time since our inception we have dealt with large and small businesses and it was primarily through our dealings with small businesses that KISS Builder came to be.

Through various discussions with SME’s we realized that many of them only wanted a simple solution, that didn’t cost much, but it was important that they could make changes to their website themselves and not constantly go back to the web developers – which in their eyes may have been costly and time consuming.

Kiswebs challenged itself to come up with a solution and they worked with various small businesses for over 1 year through the initial version of KISS Builders development.

Since time Kiswebs have taken on board many of the comments from many of the KISS Builder users and the product today is even better and easier to use as a result.

KISS Builder is a low cost, easy to use, website creation and management tool. It is developed by small businesses for small businesses.

38. If this product is not quite right for my business then can you help with building our website?
Most definitely yes. Kiswebs are experienced website and web solutions providers. If it is web related then Kiswebs do it.

39. Can more than one person attend the training?
In multi business training sessions only 1 person from each company can attend. In 1-2-1 training sessions you can have up to 3 people present.
